Stand up paddle boarding, often shortened to SUP, is one of the fastest growing watersports we’ve seen. As most people can be stood up on the large boards almost instantly, using a paddle to propel themselves and control the board, it explains the popularity. They can be a great introduction to watersports whether on a lake, river, or the ocean. Since the development of inflatable SUPs (and the dramatic improvement of board technology) this burgeoning discipline has become even more accessible with new styles to try and areas to explore. Specialised performance boards are also available for demanding sea conditions, wave riding or long touring distances. There is also a thriving competitive race scene with light, fast, agile boards. Our selection covers all riders, from beginner paddlers to elite racers, plus a variety of paddles and all the accessories you will need.
We’re proud to offer a range of paddleboards and complete SUP packages from a variety of brands such as Jobe, Starboard and Fanatic. Whether you’re a complete beginner or an advanced paddler looking for your next touring, surf, yoga or race board, we’ll have something for you. We also offer a wide range of accessories including paddles, hand and electric pumps, dry bags, leashes, buoyancy aids and more.
The sport is known as stand up paddleboarding (SUP for short), and it's one of the fastest-growing activities on the water.
Stand up paddleboards and surfboards differ in size. SUP boards are much longer, about 14 feet long, and usually heavier and thicker to provide extra stability.
Modern inflatable paddle boards are robust and can take a serious beating without any major damage occurring.
Never keep your paddleboard (hard or inflatable) in the direct sunlight on land for an extended period of time. The heat could delaminate your hard paddleboard and could potentially damage the seams of your inflatable SUP.
The length of time it takes to inflate your SUP will depend on the type of pump you are using. With a regular hand pump, it will take anywhere from 6 – 10 minutes depending on how fast you pump. With a good SUP electric pump, it will take 6-8 minutes depending on the size of the board.
